Pair of carbon print portrait photographs, 4" h x 2 3/4" w (10.16 x 7 cm), of a young girl. The carbon print process is a very time consuming and exacting process that only the most dedicated portrait photographers would employ. (And that not everyone would be willing to pay for.) The result was a superior photograph that is considered a "permanent process". The beautiful tones and depth in these two poses are virtually as new, more than one hundred years after they were taken. Both mounted to stiff paper mounts that measure 8 1/4" h x 6" w. Studio mark of "Laurent, Le Vésinet, (France)". Circa 1910. $25.00, the pair.
