Collection of three real photo post cards showing the End of the Occupation of the Rhineland by the British Army, Cologne, 1926. No photographer's credits. Descriptive, contemporary writing in pen to versos of all three. The top image shows the ceremony of mayor Konrad Adenauer (in bowler hat and top coat) taking over the town from the British Commander. Adenauer would go on to serve as the first post-war Chancellor of West Germany. The middle image shows the British guard of honor as the flag is lowered. The bottom image shows the last party of troops leaving the city as they pass the cathedral. All three in near fine condition with a touch of edgewear. Special and very scarce. $50.00, the three.
